Wild and Free
Oil on Burlap - 36" X 24"

Wild is Exciting

Years ago I discovered that the surface on which an artist has to paint can add a great deal to the subject matter he/she is painting. In the western art field this is especially true. The “Wild and Free” painting is painted on an antique burlap potato sack. I believe the texture and color of the burlap adds  excitement to this herd of wild horses running across the desert. The texture and color goes amazing well with any decor. I have seen my burlap paintings in both lavish and humble settings. They look great in both.
